They are 13 forms of middle-class level. Motion is intense and speed is also required. |

This is the synthesis of OMOTE and CHUDAN. These are the forms which the middle-class aimed at to master from old times. |

These aim at training of mind and consist of 14 forms. They are not so speedy, but exercise filled with spirit is necessary; it's the basis of training of mind: here the student can find a real "Budo feeling". |
After these, there are 4 other groups of kata:
| GOHON no MIDARE | These are the forms devised by the 25th Master, the late Shimizu Takaji Katsuyasu. This is the synthesis of OMOTE, CHUDAN and KAGE, and also the developed one of RAN-AI |
| SAMIDARE | Samidare can be said the middle-class of training in mind. The technique requires dignity also: these are the high-class forms which are not achieved without perfect harmony of mind, technique and body. |
| OKUDEN | These are the forms instructed to a specific person only who excel in mind, technique and body after a training for a long time. |
| HIDEN-GOKUI (GOMUSONO-JO) |
